Comer names Republicans on task force to declassify federal 'secrets' – Epstein, JFK assassination
As of now, no Democrats have been announced for the committee.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., on Tuesday announced the Republicans that will sit on the task force overseeing the declassification of documents related to President John F. Kennedy' assassination, and the client list of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The Republicans are Reps. Anna Paulina Luna, Florida; Nancy Mace, South Carolina; Tim Burchett, Tennessee; Lauren Boebert, Colorado; Eli Crane, Arizona; Eric Burlison, Missouri; and Brandon Gill, Texas.
Last week, Luna was tapped to lead the task force titled the "Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets."
No Democrat has so far joined the task force.
“Ensuring government transparency for the American people is a core mission of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee," Comer said in a statement. "The Republicans on Rep. Luna’s task force are steadfast champions of transparency, and I am confident they will vigorously pursue and deliver the truth on critical issues."Luna said the first hearing will take place in March and focus on the Kennedy assassination.
"First hearing will cover JFK," Luna said. "I am looking to bring in a few people. To include an individual on the assassination record review board as well as someone on the House Select committee on Assassinations."
