Kentucky Congressman Hal Rogers in 'good condition' after car accident
He was admitted to the hospital for observation and is currently in good condition.
Kentucky Rep. Hal Rogers continues to recover from a car accident in which he was involved last week in the Washington, D.C., area.
The 86-year-old Republican lawmaker was admitted to the hospital and reportedly is in "good condition."
Whether he had been released as of Tuesday afternoon was unclear.
Rogers' congressional office declined to immediately comment on the lawmaker's condition and before this story was posted.
The accident occurred Wednesday evening, according to CNN.
Rogers was admitted to the hospital for observation. The extent of his injures, if any, also remains unclear.
“I’m thankful for the first responders and medical team who have thoroughly cared for me," he said Friday. "I’m avidly following doctor’s orders, while also working with my staff to ensure serving the people of southern and eastern Kentucky remains the first priority."
Rogers is one of the longest-serving House members and is chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee for Commerce.
