House Democrats on Thursday criticized Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for saying he would supply the needed Democrat votes to pass a GOP-crafted spending bill to avoid a federa governmenrt shutdown Friday night.

Schumer announced on the Senate floor that he would vot to advacne the so-called continuing resolution despite thinking the legislation is not good.

“There is a deep sense of outrage and betrayal,” New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said in a statement, according to The Hill newspaper. “And this is not just about progressive Democrats, This is across the board — the entire party.”

Ocasio-Cortez called on voters to call their senators to get them not to vote for the continuing resolution.

According to a report from CNN, some members were infuriated with Schumer's decision and encouraged Cortez to primary Schumer.

“The member said that Democrats at a policy retreat in Virginia were ‘so mad’ that even centrist Democrats were ‘ready to write checks for AOC for Senate," a source told the outlet.

Ohio Democratic Rep. Greg Landsman called on his Democratic Senate colleagues not to vote for the bill.

"Use your power to stand up for the tens of millions of Americans who can’t afford the results of a corrupt monarch and the big money donors who get everything they want at the expense of the rest of us," he wrote on X, referencing Senate Democrats.

Rep. Nydia Velazquez wrote on X.: "Democrats must FIGHT BACK, not roll over. The Senate must vote NO on cloture,"
