GOP Rep. Mike Collins mocked Maryland Democratic Sen. Chris Van Hollen's visit to El Salvador to meet deportee with a post on the social media platform X.

Collins posted a photo of Van Hollen's congressional office sign with El Salvador in place of Maryland.

Van Hollen visited El Salvador and met with Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was deported from the U.S. to El Salvador. 

Van Hollen argued that he was not given due process and was wrongly deported, even though he was living in the U.S. illegally.

“We need to bring Kilmar Garcia home to protect his Constitutional rights to due process," he said.

A judge reportedly gave him protection from deportation in 2019.
