Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk donated multiple Starlink devices to help Los Angeles-area residents who've lost power and-or internet service in the deadly wildfires.

Grey Bull Rescue, a nonprofit rescue group, met with Musk and first-responders to set up the devices so people could get internet access and communicate if they need help.

"Effective communication is essential in any crisis, war, or disaster – especially in remote and devastated areas where communication infrastructure is destroyed like we see here in California," Grey Bull Rescue Chair Bryan Stern said in a Fox News interview.

"Yesterday, Grey Bull Rescue was honored to assist the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACFD) by securing Starlink mini units to provide them with critical communications in areas devastated by wildfires," he continued.

The wildfires that started blazing through Los Angeles last week have resulted in thousands of people having to flee their homes and many structures being destroyed. At least 24 people have died in the roughly five fires.

During Hurricane Helene, Musk also donated Starlink devices to those in North Carolina impacted by the flooding.
