Trump to revoke short-term legal protections of Ukrainian refugees in US: report
This would impact about 240,000 Ukrainian refugees, according to reports.
President Donald Trump is going to revoke temporary legal protections for Ukrainian refugees who fled the country amid the war with Russia, according to reports.
This move could happen as early as April, making the Ukrainians more eligible for deportation, according to an exclusive report from the Reuters outlet.
This would impact about 240,000 Ukrainian refugees.
As of now, the US Department of Homeland Security has not confirmed the report from the outlet.
Over 1.5 million migrants have come to the U.S. under the Biden administration on temporary humanitarian parole programs, which the Trump administration is expected to crack down on.
When Trump got into office for his second term, he signed an executive order that ended temporary humanitarian parole programs for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans who entered the US legally, putting them at risk of deportation.
