Project Veritas accuses CNN of bias, releases what it says are recordings of CNN president, others
"I just want to reemphasize that, you know, I think we cannot normalize what has happened here in the last week with Trump and his behavior," someone Project Veritas identified as CNN president Jeff Zucker said in a recording.
Project Veritas released on Tuesday what it said were audio recordings of CNN 9 a.m. telephone calls which Project Veritas founder and CEO James O'Keefe says reveal bias at the news organization.
The recordings allegedly include comments from CNN president Jeff Zucker and others.
In part of an Oct. 9, 2020 recording, Project Veritas identifies Zucker as the speaker who says: "I just want to reemphasize that, you know, I think we cannot normalize what has happened here in the last week with Trump and his behavior."
In a Sept. 8, 2020 recording, Project Veritas had originally identified the speaker as vice president of Global Programming for CNN Digital Worldwide Marcus Mabry, but later corrected the record because CNN Communications said the speaker in the recording was actually David Vigilante. Vigilante makes a comment in which he use the words "naked racism of Tucker Carlson" in a reference to the popular conservative Fox News Channel commentator and host.
Vigilante says, "that's really what drove this anti-diversity push. You know Trump watches Tucker Carlson's show and then reacts," the person says during the recording.
O'Keefe blasted CNN in a statement: “This is yet another investigation Project Veritas has conducted into CNN, and once again they’ve demonstrated their partisan political agenda and total disconnect with journalistic ethics,” O'Keefe said.
Just the news attempted to reach out to CNN for comment.
