Just the News announced Monday it has released a brand new iOS app for users on Apple devices that allows consumers to experience its rapidly expanding content four different ways via text stories, podcasts, video and search.

An Android version of the app is set to be released later this month.

"We have grown exponentially over the last five years, and it was time to give our original apps an overhaul to leverage the rich content we now produce from top podcasts and TV shows, to short-form video clips and stories all discoverable through a powerful search navigation," CEO and Editor in Chief John Solomon said. "We like the new functionality and the four-dimensional experience the new app offers."

The Just the News App was approved by Apple last week and began appearing in the iOS App Store. It works on all the latest Apple iPhones and iPads, as well as most legacy devices.

The new app features an improved breaking news badge alert system as well as a new bottom-of-screen navigation pane that allows readers to consume content four different ways: read, listen, watch and search. It also offers more expansive tools for sharing content on social media and video platforms.

Consumers are urged to uninstall the old Just the News app before downloading the new one from the iOS App Store. The new app can be found quickly in that store with the search term "Just the News App." The new app was already trending in several categories Monday afternoon.

Solomon said an Android-based app is in final testing and should debut in the Google Play store by the end of the month.
