Zelensky says he is ‘ready’ to resign as Ukraine president in exchange for NATO membership

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday that he is “ready” to resign as the country's leader in exchange for NATO membership.

“If to achieve peace, you really need me to give up my post, I’m ready,” Zelensky said at a news conference, according to the Associated Press. “I can trade it for NATO.” 

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has said that Ukrainian membership in NATO was unrealistic.
