Police in major cities are ramping up security at Jewish synagogues after the deadly Hamas attack on Israel, which has claimed the lives of at least 800 Israelis and 9 Americans.
The New York City Police Department's Critical Response Command was reportedly put on "high alert" and "deployed to sensitive sites in the five boroughs following the military assault Saturday, with heavily armed cops protecting potential terror targets," according to a New York Post report.
Los Angeles police said in a statement that officers were increasing security measures throughout Jewish and Muslim communities.
Jewish synagogues were forced to evacuate Sunday while pro-Palestinian rallies were underway in Utah.
