Zelenskyy hopes for ‘strong relations” after tense meeting with Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that the U.S. and Ukraine would maintain “strong relations,” after a clash with Trump Friday. 

Zelenskyy made the remarks at a London summit with European leaders, which was organized by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the Associated Press reports

The Ukrainian president also thanked the American people and its leadership. 

President Donald Trump Friday offered blunt words to Zelensky in front of reporters at the White House, warning him that he was risking a global conflict, losing the war, and demanding that he show gratitude for American support.
