Two Pakistan bus crashes kill 36
Dozens more were injured in the crashes just hours apart
Officials have reported at least 36 fatalities after two buses crashed just hours apart in Pakistan.
The first crash involved a bus of Shiite Muslim pilgrims returning from Iraq via Iran, the Associated Press reported. The pilgrims' bus rolled off a highway into a southwest Pakistan ravine, killing at least 12 and injuring 32.
The bus driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle on the Makran coastal highway in Baluchistan due to brake failure.
Baluchistan officials are making arrangements to return the pilgrims' bodies to Punjab for burial.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz offered her condolences to the families of those killed in the crash.
Within a few hours, another bus crash killed 24 when the vehicle rolled into a ravine. Two women and one child were among the dead.
Omar Farooq, a senior official in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, reported no survivors. An initial report listed seven injured, but doctors and officials later reported all passengers died onboard.
Rescue official Raja Moazzam reported most bodies have been identified.
