Kenyan police arrest starvation cult leader, at least 73 bodies recovered
The death toll of a starvation cult outside Malindi, Kenya has risen to 73 as law enforcement continues to recover bodies from a mass grave in the Shakahola forest. Cult leader Paul Mackenzie Nthenge, who was arrested April 15, encouraged followers of the Good News International Church to starve themselves in order to meet Jesus.
