“Plan Red” author Gordon Chang says the Chinese Communist Party views America as an existential threat. “Not because of anything we say or do, but because of who we are,” he explains. “An insecure regime in Beijing is worried about the inspirational impact of America’s values and form of governance on the Chinese people. Unfortunately, we will never have amicable relations with China as long as the Communist Party rules it.”
