Poultry problem: Tractor-trailer crash throws 80,000 pounds of raw chicken onto Georgia interstate
Police did not confirm whether anyone was injured in the incident.
Why did the chicken cross the road? In the Atlanta, Georgia, suburb of Sandy Springs, a tractor-trailer overturned, causing 80,000 pounds of raw poultry to fall all over the interstate and a seven-vehicle crash.
The tractor-trailer crashed around 6 p.m. Wednesday on I-285 and it also caused a fuel spill, the Sandy Springs Police Department said, according to Fox News.
Police said there were only minor injuries from the crash, local outlet 11Alive reported.
Video on social media shows the extent of the crash, which blocked all six lanes of the highway.
Officers said shortly before 9:30 p.m. that the interstate had fully reopened.
The cause of the crash was not immediately available.
