Rep. Tlaib endorses anti-Biden protest as Michigan's Democratic primary approaches

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., endorsed a campaign encouraging Democrats to vote "uncommitted" in Michigan's upcoming presidential primary due to President Joe Biden's handling of the Israel-Hamas war. 

"Something that is a bullhorn to say enough is enough," Tlaib said in a video posted to the social media platform, X. "We don't want a country that supports wars and bombs and destruction. We want to support life. We want to stand up for every single life killed in Gaza."

Michigan's Democratic presidential primary takes place Feb. 27. Tlaib has been an outspoken critic of Biden and his handling of the war in Gaza. She voted against the $14.3 billion in funding for Israel, arguing Americans "do not support the funding of war crimes."

The campaign was organized by a group called "Listen to Michigan," which speaks out against Biden and his handling of the war and urges voters to protest by voting "uncommitted" in the primary.

The group has been endorsed by the Detroit chapter of Democratic Socialists of America, according to The Detroit News. 

"This is the way you can raise our voices, to make us even more visible," Tlaib said in the video. "Right now, we feel completely neglected — neglected and just unseen by our government. If you want us to be louder, then come here and vote uncommitted."
