GOP Rep. Nancy Mace endorses Trump for president in 2024
"Today I'm endorsing Donald J. Trump for President. I don’t see eye to eye perfectly with any candidate. And until now I’ve stayed out of it. But the time has come to unite behind our nominee," Mace posted on X.
South Carolina GOP Rep. Nancy Mace on Monday endorsed former President Donald Trump for president in 2024, becoming the latest South Carolina lawmaker to choose the ex-commander-in-chief over the Palmetto State's former governor, Nikki Haley.
Haley has emerged as the last remaining challenger of any standing to Trump's claiming the Republican nomination for president in 2024. Despite investing heavily in New Hampshire ahead of Tuesday's primary in the Granite State, she appears to trail Trump in most polls. Further complicating things for her have been several high-profile endorsements of Trump from her home state, including those of Mace and GOP Sen. Tim Scott, whom Haley first appointed to his seat.
"Today I'm endorsing Donald J. Trump for President. I don’t see eye to eye perfectly with any candidate. And until now I’ve stayed out of it. But the time has come to unite behind our nominee," Mace posted on X. "To be honest, it’s been a complete shit show since he left the White House. Our country needs to reverse all the damage Joe Biden has done."
"By every barometer, our lives and our nation were better under President Trump," she continued. "The economy was booming, our border was locked down and our nation and her allies were safer because our adversaries feared him. Donald Trump’s record in his first term should tell every American how vital it is he be returned to office."
The South Carolina primary is slated for next month and Trump currently leads in the state by 30.2 in the RealClearPolitics polling average.
