FBI found cocaine on gun pouch belonging to Hunter Biden, special counsel claims
Biden pleaded not guilty to three counts in October, including one charge for possessing a firearm while being a drug addict.
Special counsel David Weiss on Tuesday claimed in a court filing that the FBI discovered cocaine on a gun pouch that had stored first son Hunter Biden's gun.
"To be clear... investigators literally found drugs on the pouch where the defendant had kept his gun," prosecutors argued, according to the New York Post. Those drugs, the filing stated, were tested and found to be cocaine.
The first son faces charges from Weiss alleging that he falsely claimed not to be a drug user when filing out federal forms to purchase the weapon.
Hunter Biden has sought to dismiss the charges, resulting in the response from Weiss. Biden pleaded not guilty to three counts in October, including one charge for possessing a firearm while being a drug addict.
He has been open about his past struggles with drug addictions and claims to no longer use illicit substances.
