Chemical cloud over Atlanta results in new shelter-in-place order
Firefighters in Atlanta said that they are continuing to monitor the situation.
Residents in Atlanta, Georgia, were ordered to shelter in place after chemical cloud moved to a new neighborhood.
The chemical cloud was the result of a chlorine factory fire, according to The Associated Press.
This shelter in place order took place following the same order being placed in Rockdale County where a chemical fire caused problems.
Firefighters in Atlanta said that they are continuing to monitor the situation and said that anyone struggling to breath should call the Georgia Poison Center hotline.
“If you don’t have to be outside, if you don’t have to be on the roadways, stay home,” Rockdale County Board of Commissioners Chairman Oz Nesbitt said during a press conference.
Federal investigators are looking into what the cause of the fire could have been.
