Warnock sees massive cash advantage over Walker ahead of runoff election
Democratic incumbent commands nearly 10x as much as Republican challenger.
Georgia Democratic Senate incumbent Raphael Warnock is maintaining a massive cash advantage over his Republican challenger Herschel Walker ahead of the runoff election next month that will determine which of the two men will head to the U.S. Senate in January.
Warnock reportedly holds roughly $30 million in reserves, while Walker commands just under $10 million, according to FEC filings.
Polling ahead of the midterm elections put the two politicians within striking distance of each other; Warnock ultimately pulled ahead of Walker, but only by less than 1% of the vote, leading to the runoff in question.
The runoff election, scheduled for Dec. 6, will not decide control of the U.S. Senate, which will remain in Democratic control following several Republican defeats on election night.
