Obama praises new DNC chair, 'lots of work ahead' building 'bold' party telling 'compelling story'

Former President Barack Obama praised Ken Martin, the new chairman of the Democratic National Committee who was elected on Saturday, predicting that he will bring to the DNC the "same energy and drive" from his chairmanship of the Minnesota state Democratic Party.
"Congrats to our new DNC chair, Ken Martin. Ken has done outstanding work in Minnesota, and will bring that same energy and drive to this new role," Obama wrote Saturday on X.
"Together, we need to build a bold, responsive Democratic Party that can tell a compelling story about who we’re fighting for and where we need to go as a country. I am grateful to all who are stepping up to engage. Lots of work ahead!" he added.
Martin was elected at the DNC meeting that commenced on Saturday in the Washington, D.C. area.
