Congressman Ralph Norman explains why he endorsed Nikki Haley over Trump for President
"She was a true patriot. She bucked the system," Rep. Norman said about former UN Ambassador Haley.
South Carolina GOP Rep. Ralph Norman endorsed former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley for president, saying she is a true patriot and will unite the country.
"I've served with Nikki," Norman told "Just the News, No Noise" Thursday. "She and I came in at the same time in the state House. I saw what she did. She was a true patriot. She bucked the system."
Norman went on to compliment former President Donald Trump's policies and says he believes Haley will copy those policies if elected.
"What Donald Trump did for this country was amazing," said Norman. "I'll never criticize anything he did. His policies were unbelievable. I think any of the candidates that put their name on the line for the Republican Party will basically do what Donald Trump has done."
Before becoming the UN Ambassador under Trump, Haley was the former governor of South Carolina.
According to Norman, Haley called him and asked for his endorsement for her run for the GOP nomination.
"When she called me, she said, 'Can you get on board?' I said, 'Absolutely. Nikki. You will unite everybody.' I strongly feel if we lose the 24 election, we lose our country."
Norman also said that he believes Nikki Haley can inspire the GOP base.
"We've got to have somebody who will get the independents to the polls, somebody who will get all Republicans and somebody who will excite the base," he concluded. "I think Nikki Haley fits that bill."
