Dozens of people in West Virginia mistakenly received a COVID antibody treatment instead of a virus vaccine, the state National Guard said Thursday.

Forty-two people received the antibody product Regeneron, intramuscularly, at a vaccination clinic hosted by staff at the Boone County Health Department, according to ABC News

A department administrator told the news outlet that “this was an isolated incident.”

The Food and Drug Administration gave the treatment emergency-use approval this fall. It is typically given intravenously. President Trump was treated with the drug in October when he contracted the virus.

Medical experts do not believe any of the 42 who received the monoclonal antibody are at risk of harm. Officials said all of them have been notified and won’t have to wait to receive the vaccine as a result of receiving the Regeneron.
