Trump says automakers want to come back to Michigan due to his tax, tariff policy
Trump said automakers are calling the administration at "levels you've never seen before."
President Donald Trump said Tuesday that automakers want to come back to Michigan due to his tax and tariff policies.
"They're coming in by the tens," Trump said during a rally in Michigan for his first 100 days in office. "You got to see what's happening. They all want to come back to Michigan and build cars again. You know why? Because of our tax and tariff policy."
He said automakers are calling the administration at "levels you've never seen before."
Earlier in the day, Trump spoke to the Michigan National Guard.
He went on to praise the automakers for their support in the 2024 election.
"I'm thrilled to be back in this beautiful state with thousands of proud, hard-working American patriots," he said.
