Florida GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna on Tuesday introduced a bill that seeks to codify actions taken by the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) into federal law.

The bill would formalize and maintain all actions taken by the department under President Donald Trump's "Establishing and Implementing the President's 'Department of Government Efficiency'" executive order, including all rules and guidance imposed by DOGE.

“For the first time in decades, we are seeing a successful effort to save valuable taxpayer dollars from the federal government's rampant waste, fraud, and abuse," Luna said in a press release. “My legislation will ensure that Americans can continue to enjoy a more efficient government and less burdensome regulatory environment. The American people deserve no less."

DOGE has helped lead recent governmental reforms that are aimed at reducing wasteful spending, including terminating thousands of government contracts. The department has estimated that it has saved American taxpayers a cumulative $160 billion since January.
