Trump continues online feud with George Conway, calls him 'Moonface'
The president alludes to the state of his Twitter antagonist's marriage to top White House advisor Kellyanne Conway.
In an overnight tweet storm, President Trump took aim at the recently formed Lincoln Project, calling the opposition group a variety of names and personally attacking George Conway, the leader and husband to top Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway.
The Lincoln Project, a group of Republicans and former Republicans united by the desire to defeat President Trump in the fall, released an attack ad about the president's handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
The ad, set to melancholic music and showing an America in shambles, prompted the president's late night critique of the organization. Trump evidently believes that many of the key members of the project support a "failed" Republican party agenda of the past, and that most take personal issue with him.
In particular, Trump singled out George Conway, the founder of the group and one of the president's most vocal critics.
Conway's online lambasting sessions of POTUS have drawn significant attention because of the prominent role his wife plays in the administration. The constant public condemnations of his wife's boss have raised public questions about the state of the Conways' marriage — an issue that the president alludes to in Monday night's lament.
"I don't know what Kellyanne did to her deranged loser of a husband, Moonface, but it must have been really bad," tweeted Trump.
