Judge orders Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to undergo paternity test

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will be required to undergo a paternity test to determine if he is indeed the father of a woman who claims as much, a judge ordered this week.

Alexandra Davis had earlier this year sued Jones in a Dallas court, demanding the dissolution of an alleged legal agreement between Jones and Davis’s mother stipulating that the billionaire would support them so long as they kept quiet about Davis’s true paternity. 

Davis herself subsequently dropped that case but launched a new suit in an effort to prove that Jones is indeed her father. This week Associate Judge T. Jones Abendroth directed Jones to undergo the test.

The agreement between Jones and Davis’s mother Cynthia reportedly allowed for generous payments to both Cynthia and then to Alexandra at periodic points during her life.

Jones has been married to his wife Gene since 1963; they have three children.
