The Guatemalan migrant who allegedly set a woman on fire on the New York City subway was indicted Friday on charges including first-degree murder and second-degree arson.

Sebastian Zapeta-Calil, an illegal migrant from Guatemala, was also charged with second-degree murder in connection with the Dec. 22 killing in which a woman was afire as she was sleeping on a stationary train on Coney Island.

The 33-year-old Zapeta-Calil was not at the brief court hearing when the charges were announced, according to CNN.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Jan 7, 2025.
