Feds arrest alleged antifa 'ringleader' in connection with attack on Andrew Jackson statue

Federal law enforcement on Thursday reportedly arrested a man in connection with the attempted toppling last month of a Washington, D.C., statue of Andrew Jackson, with the suspect allegedly having connections to the hardline progressive activist group Antifa. 

Sources told Fox News that Jason Charter was arrested at his home Thursday morning without incident. He was reportedly in a "leadership role" within the group of protesters that attempted to pull down the Jackson statue on June 22. 

The statue is in Lafayette Square, near the front of the White House.

Charter "was on top of the statue and directing people," a law enforcement official told Fox. The rioters "had acid, chisels, straps and a human chain preventing police from getting to the statue.”
