President Donald Trump made an appearance at Sunday’s Daytona 500 and took "the Beast," the nickname for the official presidential vehicle, onto the speedway for some laps with race cars following behind.

Sunday marked the second Daytona 500 visit for Trump as president. He served as grand marshal during his first visit in 2020.

“From the roar of the engines on the track to the echo of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ soaring through the stands, the Daytona 500 is a timeless tribute to the speed, strength and unyielding spirit that make America great,” Trump said in a message released as he flew on Air Force One to Daytona Beach, Florida. “That spirit is what will fuel America’s Golden Age, and if we harness it, the future is truly ours.”

Trump greeted NASCAR drivers during his visit and participated in an interview on the field.
