Trump names Fox News hosts as final two Kennedy Center Board members
The Kennedy Center has released a list of more than 20 shows, including "Hamilton," that have pulled their performances, or been dropped by the center.
President Donald Trump on Friday announced Fox News host Laura Ingraham and Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo as the final trustees on the board of the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
Trump took over the board shortly after he returned to office, when he was elected chairman of the board. He also named political ally Ric Grenell as the center's interim executive director.
"I am thrilled to announce that Laura Ingraham and Maria Bartiromo will be joining our Kennedy Center Board," Trump posted on Truth Social. "We look forward to restoring the Center to Greatness, and ushering in America’s Golden Age. Together, we will Make the Arts Great Again!"
Other new members of the board include former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Lee Greenwood, second lady Usha Vance, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and Dan Scavino, according to the center.
The news comes the same week that the lead producer of the Broadway musical "Hamilton" canceled the show's upcoming performances. The show was expected to run next year.
The Kennedy Center has also released a list of more than 20 shows that have since pulled their performances, or been dropped by the center for financial reason, since Trump took over the center.
