President Trump at the White House Rose Garden on Tuesday claimed that presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden's platform is "the most extreme platform of any major party nominee, by far, in American history."

Trump spoke for about an hour before taking a few questions from reporters, in what essentially became a campaign speech.

Trump – who was referring to the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force Recommendations, a policy document released by the two camps last week –claimed that the Biden proposal was "worse than Bernie's platform," and that Biden was "begging for [the Sanders] vote." Sanders has long been known for his openly socialist politics, including his desire to abolish private American healthcare and institute single-payer government care.

Reading off of stylized "key elements" from the proposal, Trump claimed Biden wants to "stop all deportations," "support deadly sanctuary cities," offer "taxpayer funded lawyers" to "all illegal aliens," and numerous other progressive provisions.

Biden gave a campaign speech earlier in the day in Wilmington, Delaware, about energy policy.

At the wide-ranging press conference, Trump also touted the U.S.'s response to the coronavirus pandemic, including the nearly 44,000,000 tests the country has performed, second only to China.

"We've done a great job," Trump said.
