Protester interrupts Kamala Harris saying she mourns Gazans killed in hostage rescue
"We mourn all the innocent lives that have been lost in Gaza, including those tragically killed today," Harris said.
Vice President Kamala Harris said she mourns the "innocent lives" lost during the Israeli operation to save four hostages in Gaza, but she was still interrupted by a protester.
Harris began her speech Saturday before the Michigan Democratic Party by addressing the situation in Gaza, the same day that Israel rescued four hostages from Hamas.
"We mourn all the innocent lives that have been lost in Gaza, including those tragically killed today. For the past eight months —" Harris said before being cut off by a protester yelling, video from the event shows.
While the protester's words were inaudible, they were identified by the Daily Caller as being pro-Palestinian.
Harris attempted to continue her speech, but the protester continued to interrupt her.
"I’m speaking right now. And I value and respect your voice, but I’m speaking right now," Harris finally said as the protester continued yelling and was escorted from the venue.
President Joe Biden has faced issues in Michigan before as he works to win over the vital swing state for his 2024 reelection bid. During the state's Democratic primary earlier this year, more than 10% of voters cast their ballots as "uncommitted," rather than for Biden.
