Obama, Clinton, Bush not attending Trump’s inaugural luncheon: Report

Obama, Bush, Clinton and Trump were seated together at the funeral service for the late former President Jimmy Carter in Washington, D.C. earlier this month.

Former U.S. Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush are not attending President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural luncheon at the U.S. Capitol after the swearing-in on Monday, according to a report.

NBC News reported that Obama and Clinton were reportedly invited but declined while Bush’s office said the former president didn’t receive a formal invitation.

Obama, Bush, Clinton and Trump were seated together at the funeral service for the late former President Jimmy Carter in Washington, D.C. earlier this month.

President Biden and first lady Jill Biden are scheduled for the ceremonial tea at the White House with Trump and his wife, Melania, on Monday morning prior to the inauguration ceremony.

The outgoing president typically does not attend the luncheon on Capitol Hill.
