Tornados, strong storms rip through US South and Midwest, causing at least 16 deaths

Tornadoes and strong storms ripped through states in the the U.S. South and Midwest, causing at least 16 deaths as of Sunday morning.

Property damage has been reported in Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois and Indiana.

The deaths occurred in Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri and Indiana, according to the Weather Channel.

The Associated Press reported that more than 520 flights were cancelled and more than 6,400 flights were delayed on Saturday. Those figures included international inbound, outbound and domestic flights. More delays and cancellations occurred on Sunday.
