MSNBC hires ex-FBI lawyer Lisa Page as on-air legal and security analyst

MSNBC has hired former FBI Lawyer Lisa Page as a national security and legal analyst, the company announced on Friday.

Page also posted about her new position on Twitter.

Anti-Trump text messages sent in 2016 between Page and former FBI agent Peter Strzok, with whom she was having an affair, were heavily criticized by Republicans in Congress during the course of the Russia probe.

Page appeared on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show in December of last year and discussed her lawsuit against the Justice Department and FBI. She also further explained some of the controversial text messages she sent to Strzok.

Strzok and Page texted about an "insurance policy" in case Donald Trump won the presidency.

“We’re using an analogy. We’re talking about whether or not we should take certain investigative steps or not based on the likelihood that he’s going to be president or not, right? You have to keep in mind if President Trump doesn’t become president the national security risk if there is somebody in his campaign associated with Russia plummets,” Page said.
