DOJ search of Pence organization offices turns up no classified materials

The Department of Justice on Friday searched the Washington offices of former Vice President Mike Pence's Advancing American Freedom group for classified materials, but discovered none.
The search followed Pence self-reporting that he had discovered classified materials at his Indiana home and a subsequent FBI search of that premises.
Pence spokesman Devin O'Malley indicated that DOJ officials on Friday did not take any materials marked classified but did remove "approximately three previously redacted documents" in a binder, according to The Hill.
A member of Pence's legal team was present throughout the hours-long search the premises.
The former vice president's initial discovery occurred after he opted to search his home following reports that one of President Joe Biden's lawyers had uncovered sensitive materials while clearing out his former office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington.
Both men had strongly condemned former President Donald Trump for his own alleged mishandling of classified materials in the aftermath of an Aug. 8, 2022, FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
Pence appeared to have egg on his face following his own discovery of classified materials given he previously denied having taken any such documents from the White House and asserted "there would be no reason" for anyone to do so.
