Biden's commerce secretary on Trump: 'Let’s extinguish him for good'
When pressed on what she meant by "extinguish," Raimondo said to vote Trump out so he "goes away"
Biden Administration Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo on Wednesday called for former President Donald Trump to be extinguished "for good."
Her comments were made amid two failed assassination attempts against Trump and direct threats on his life from Iran.
Raimondo was asked about Trump saying he would be “protector” of women if he wins another term in the White House.
“How did we get here? Let’s extinguish him for good,” she said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe."
“We have an answer. We have a remarkably talented candidate who is sincere, who is pragmatic, who’s open. Let’s just get it done,” Raimondo said about electing Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump's general election opponent.
The former Rhode Island governor was pressed to explain what she meant by using the word "extinguish" in her answer.
“Vote him out, banish him from American politics,” Raimondo said. “Yes, just vote him out so he goes away.”
