Conservative podcaster, former Trump political adviser Steve Bannon released from prison

Conservative podcaster and former Trump political adviser Steve Bannon was released from prison Tuesday morning.

Bannon served four months in a federal prison in Connecticut for defying a subpoena to appear before Congress to testify as part of its investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot. 

His scheduled released was announced by the Bureau of Prisons.

The 70-year-old Bannon is set to resume his War Room podcast Tuesday morning, according the Associated Press. 

He has also scheduled a 3 p.m. news conference in New York City.
