AOC wants Clarence Thomas impeached over alleged undisclosed gifts

New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is calling for the impeachment of Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas amid reports that billionaire Republican megadonor Harlan Crow treated him to lavish vacations.
A recent article from ProPublica has highlighted Thomas's relationship with the GOP megadonor, which has involved flights on Crow's private plane and frequent shared trips. The outlet suggested that Thomas ought to have reported the trips and stays. Crow, for his part, has insisted he extended his "hospitality" to Thomas and that he had done so with many other individuals.
The New York Democrat, often a critic of conservative justices such as Thomas, seized on the reports to demand his removal.
"This is beyond party or partisanship. This degree of corruption is shocking - almost cartoonish," she tweeted. "Thomas must be impeached. Barring some dramatic change, this is what the Roberts court will be known for: rank corruption, erosion of democracy, and the stripping of human rights."
The current court is generally considered to have a conservative majority of 6-3, with Justices Thomas, Alito, Roberts, Coney Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch comprising the majority. Thomas, 74, has served on the bench since 1991 and has long been one of the court's most stalwartly conservative members.
The court conservative composition has brought criticism from liberals who have disagreed with many of its recent rulings, including last year's Dobbs v. Jackson decision that overturned the constitutional right to abortion.
