Alec Baldwin issues first public statement since charges against him in New Mexico were dismissed
“There are too many people who have supported me to thank just now,” wrote Baldwin, 66, on Instagram.
Alec Baldwin issued his first public statement on Saturday since the New Mexico court’s surprising decision on Friday to dismiss the involuntary manslaughter charges against him.
“There are too many people who have supported me to thank just now,” wrote Baldwin, 66, on Instagram next to a photo of him in the Santa Fe courtroom, according to the New York Post.
“To all of you, you will never know how much I appreciate your kindness toward my family,” he added.
Baldwin is the father of eight children and a veteran TV and film actor. The charges against him were based on his actions on the set of the movie, “Rust,” that he was starring in and producing. A gun he was holding fired off a live bullet that killed one person and injured another, though he denied having pulled the trigger.
The prosecutor in the case argued unsuccessfully that the evidence in question that was not given to the defense team and which led to the dismissal, was not related to the Baldwin case.
