The House of Representatives is expected to vote Wednesday on creating bipartisan House task force to investigate the attempted assassination of former President Trump.

The task force has the support of House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

According to Johnson's office, the House will take a vote on a resolution this week to formally establish the task force and its seven Republican and six Democrat members.

His office said that the task force "will be empowered with all investigative authority of the House of Representatives including subpoena authority."

The panel will also "make recommendations for reform to the relevant government agencies and recommend any necessary legislation to implement the reforms."
