The House Judiciary Committee on Monday announced it would review and mark up the House Republicans' massive reconciliation bill on Wednesday, which will include its proposals to alter existing immigration laws.

The judiciary meeting will take place in the Rayburn House Office Building at 2 p.m. Eastern, and includes proposals to charge asylum seekers a $1,000 application fee, and a $1,000 fee for parolees, a $3,500 fee for sponsors of unaccompanied children, and a $550 fee for work permits, among others, according to Politico. 

The fees would serve as a condition of remaining in the United States, and would mark the first time that the U.S. has charged people for seeking asylum in American history.
