Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala, said he would pardon his child if he was in the same position as President Biden but he criticized the president for backtracking on his previous position.

The White House repeatedly said in the past that Biden would not pardon his son Hunter, who was facing criminal gun and tax charges.

“Well, I’ll put it this way: If it was my son, I’d pardon him too,” Tuberville said Monday on Capitol Hill, according to The Hill.

“But here’s what I didn’t like: Don’t lie to us. Don’t tell us you’re not going to do it and then do it,” he added.
