Former Obama official Sally Yates to testify in August before Senate on Russia collusion probe

Sen. Lindsey Graham, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, says Sally Yates, an acting attorney general in the Obama administration, will voluntarily testify next month before the panel, as part of Senate Republicans' review of the federal government’s Russia collusion probe.

“I think she will have some interesting testimony,” Graham, a South Carolina Republican, told the Washington Times.

Yates, who served as acting attorney general after President Trump won the 2016 election, will testify before the committee on Aug. 5.

The committee’s review focuses on whether administration officials abused the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to spy on members of the 2016 Trump presidential campaign.

Graham, whose committee has subpoena power, said he’s looking into calling former FBI Director James B. Comey and former Deputy Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe to testify in September.
