Alex Jones says Biden administration may require him to sell cat in order to pay Sandy Hook families

Alex Jones, the highly controversial radio show host who is facing bankruptcy proceedings after being ordered to pay nearly $1 billion to the families of Sandy Hook shooting victims, is claiming the Biden administration is considering making him sell his family's cat in order to pay part of the massive fines. 

Jones made the claim in a video posted to Twitter this week, saying that he appeared at a bankruptcy hearing earlier this week and that the U.S. Department of Justice spent "five minutes" discussing the possible fate of his family cat, a Ragdoll named Mooshu. 

"They wanted to know if assets were hidden in the cat," Jones said in the video. "The cat was like $2,000. It is a Ragdoll cat. We really do love it. But they were very serious about the cat and its value, and they may want the cat for the Sandy Hook families."

Jones was ordered last year to pay over $900 million to families of those who died in the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre, with the ruling stemming from claims he made that the shooting never actually happened. 

This week Jones bluntly said his family would not surrender the feline. "You guys aren't getting the cat," he said.

"This is next level," he added of the alleged DOJ inquiries. "This is harassment. No one has ever heard of this. My lawyer has never heard of this. This is just insane."
