Ultimate Fighting Championship star Conor McGregor is set to meet Monday afternoon with President Donald Trump.

"We couldn't think of a better guest to have with us on St. Patrick's Day," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News in confirming the meeting.

McGregor said that he would discuss with Trump issues that the people of Ireland are facing. McGregor has been a frequent critic of the Irish government and claimed they have "zero accountability."

"Our government has long since abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland, and it's high time that America is made aware of what's going on in Ireland," he said during a brief appearance in the White House briefing room. "What is going on in Ireland is a travesty. Our government is a government of zero action and zero accountability."

McGregor made headlines in 2023 for speaking out against the current Irish government, specifically over the significant surge in immigrants entering the country.

He has hinted at running for president of the country in the past.
