The New York Police Department on Thursday removed dozens protesters inside the lobby of Trump Tower in New York City to protest the detainment of of a Columbia University graduate who helped lead pro-Palestinian protest on the Ivy League campus.

The detainee, Mahmoud Khalil, was taken into custody over the weekend by federal agents and is now reportedly in a holding facility in Louisiana awaiting a hearing. The Trump administration wants to deport Khalil despite him having a Green Card, which has sparked some protest.
