President Donald Trump is expected to attend the Super Bowl on Sunday between defending NFL champions Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

A source at the White House confirmed to the new outlet Axios  that Trump would be attending. Many presidents have participated in Super Bowl-related events but they rarely attend the game, in part because the added level of security required.

Former President Joe Biden skipped the game last year when it was the Chiefs playing the San Francisco 49ers.

In the 1980s, Trump was the team owner of the New Jersey Generals, which was a football team in the U.S. Football League.

Trump will also do that traditional presidential halftime interview with the Fox network, which is broadcasting the game.

Trump is supposed to do the pre-taped interview with Fox News Channel anchor Bret Baier.

Security for the football game has increased due to the New Year's Day terrorist attack in New Orleans.
