Spokesperson says that Nancy Pelosi underwent a successful hip surgery in Germany
“Earlier this morning, Speaker Emerita Pelosi underwent a successful hip replacement and is well on the mend,” spokesperson Ian Krager said in a statement.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's spokesperson on Saturday confirmed that she underwent successful hip surgery while in Germany.
“Earlier this morning, Speaker Emerita Pelosi underwent a successful hip replacement and is well on the mend,” spokesperson Ian Krager said in a statement, according to The Hill.
“Speaker Pelosi is grateful to U.S. military staff at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center at Landstuhl Army Base and medical staff at Hospital Kirchberg in Luxembourg for their excellent care and kindness," the statement continued.
He added that Pelosi has been thankful for all the support and prayers.
On Friday, Pelosi was hospitalized after sustaining an injury in Luxembourg during an event marking the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.
Her injury comes in the wake of former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell sustaining an unrelated injury via a fall after a lunch meeting this week.
